Wedge to lead architects group

Carole Wedge has been selected as the next executive vice president and CEO of the $68M-revenue American Institute of Architects, effective Jan. 1, 2026. She will succeed Lakisha Ann Woods, who resigned from the group in February and now helms the National Glass Association.

“It is with tremendous excitement that AIA begins a new chapter with Carole at the helm,” said 2025 AIA President Evelyn Lee. “This is more than a shift in leadership; it is a new opportunity to accelerate the impact architects make in communities across the country and internationally.”

Wedge spent 17 years as CEO of Shepley Bulfinch, where she oversaw the firm’s national expansion and spearheaded a rebrand of its institutional identity. Most recently, she has run a consulting practice, Heaths Bridge, focused on coaching and succession planning.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental design from the University of Colorado and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Boston Architectural College.

Haut named president of children’s hospitals group

The $46M-revenue Children’s Hospital Association has appointed Paul Haut as president, effective Oct. 14. He will work alongside CEO Matthew Cook to establish CHA’s strategic direction, implement organizational priorities, and oversee education, programming and member services.

“Paul’s diverse background as a pediatrician directing stem cell transplants, a medical professor, and as a hospital executive mean he is particularly suited to support CHA’s member hospitals,” Cook said. “His breadth of knowledge and deep understanding of the challenges our hospitals face are invaluable to our work at CHA.”

Haut spent 20 years at Riley Children’s Health in Indiana, where he served as chief operating officer, chief medical officer and interim president. He was also an associate professor of pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine. Most recently, he founded PRHaut Leadership, a professional coaching firm.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brown University and a medical degree from the University of Arkansas College of Medicine.

DeHart to helm camp association

The $58M-revenue American Camp Association has appointed Henry DeHart as CEO, effective Oct. 1. He has served as interim CEO since September 2024 and was previously the group’s chief operating officer, a role he held since 2018.

“Selecting a new CEO at this time is about more than just leadership — it’s about trust,” said ACA Board Chair Steve Baskin. “Henry DeHart, with his deep expertise, steady hand and passion for the camp experience, brings not only professional expertise, but also an unwavering dedication to character development and camp safety.”

DeHart spent 17 years in YMCA camping services, including as executive vice president of camping services at YMCA of the Triangle and executive director of Camp Sea Gull.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy from Emory University.

Dopp named leader of Better Business Bureaus group

The $18.7M-revenue International Association of Better Business Bureaus has appointed Rebekah Dopp as CEO. She succeeds in leading the umbrella organization for the BBB network, which supports local offices across the U.S. and Canada.

“The Board sought a leader with the vision and expertise to reimagine our platforms, while honoring the communities of trust built by every BBB,” said Rod Davis, IABBB board chair. “Rebekah embodies both sides of that mandate. She brings a track record of technology-driven transformation and a deep commitment to community trust.”

Dopp is founder of Exponent EBI and has held executive roles at The CW, Google, YouTube, HBO and CBS. She brings more than 20 years of experience leading institutional transformation and technology-driven growth.

She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from William & Mary.

Chamber of Progress — KJ Bagchi has rejoined the $8.7M-revenue Chamber of Progress as vice president of U.S. policy and government relations, a newly created role. He most recently was the inaugural vice president of the Center for Civil Rights and Technology at the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. Earlier, he served as vice president of technology policy and senior director of technology policy at the Chamber, and also held policy roles at New America’s Open Technology Institute and Asian Americans Advancing Justice.

Finseca — Bob Schellhas will join $19M-revenue Finseca as chief advocacy officer, effective Dec. 1. He most recently served as a principal at Ernst & Young, advising financial institutions and corporations on legislative strategy and risk management. Earlier, he was managing director and head of federal government affairs at Citigroup, vice president of federal relations at the American Council of Life Insurers, and held senior congressional staff roles with former Rep. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), former Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and former Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich.).

Managed Funds Association — John Van Etten has joined $32M-revenue MFA as managing director and head of U.S. government affairs. He spent the past eight years at JPMorgan Chase, most recently as director of strategy and operations for regulatory affairs. Earlier, he held government relations roles at HSBC, New York Life Insurance Co. and The Clearing House and was legislative director to former Rep. Nan Hayworth (R-N.Y.).

National Electrical Manufacturers Association — Patrick Lozada has joined $24M-revenue NEMA as senior director of global policy. He previously served as director of global policy for the Telecommunications Industry Association, where he led international trade and standards work and served as a cleared adviser to United States Trade Representative and the Commerce Department.

            Additionally, Eric Bursch has joined as director of government relations. He was most recently director of congressional, legislative and intergovernmental affairs at the Office of Personnel Management. Earlier, he held senior Hill staff roles with Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) and Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.).

Retail Industry Leaders Association— Sung Chang has joined $19M-revenue RILA as vice president of international trade. He spent more than seven years at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, most recently as senior adviser for policy and executive communications. Earlier, he served as an attorney adviser at the Commerce Department and as a trade enforcement analyst at USTR.
